MEET THE CEO

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Dr. Katurah Jenkins-Hall is the first African-American female to receive a Ph.D. in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of South Florida (USF) in 1984.  In 1986, she began what became a 30-year career as a professor of psychology at USF, Tampa.  During her extensive career as a University Professor and Community Consultant, she designed courses and conducted numerous workshops nationally and locally addressing cultural diversity in psychology, gender-based treatment protocols for trauma and addictions, and lectures on the destigmatizing of mental health in BIPOC communities.

In 2016, upon retiring from USF, she joined the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg (FHSP), of which she served as Board Chair from 2018-2021. She pursues the mission of race and health equity for the improved health of Pinellas County. She is co-founder of Mask-Up St. Pete and volunteers extensively with the Collective Empowerment Group of the Tampa Bay Area, Inc.’s  “I Took the Shot Campaign,”  both designed to reduce the prevalence of COVID-19 in the African-American Community.  Beginning in the fall of 2021, Dr. Jenkins-Hall accepted a position as a Visiting Professor at Eckerd College. She teaches a course she developed, Health Equity and Social Justice.

Among her many accomplishments is the honor of accepting a gubernatorial appointment to the Florida Board of Psychology for 8 years, with two terms as Chair of the Board.

She is the CEO of Greater Reach Alliance of Counselors and Educators (GRACE), LLC, where she provides education, training, consultation, and counseling services to communities who are least likely to seek professional services. Most recently in 2020, she served as Clinical Director of a CARES ACT grant to address behavioral health issues related to COVID-19 in the African-American Community.

Dr. Jenkins-Hall is not only a professor, psychologist, equity leader, and CEO, she also serves as the Associate Pastor of New Dawn Restoration Center, Tampa, Fl., where she assists the Senior Pastor in developing leaders, strategic planning, managing resources, and executing the vision and mission of the church.
